148 Temple Mount
This is called the Dome of the Spirits or Dome of the Tablets. The Temple Mount is actually the holiest site
in Judaism because this is where their Temple stood. Some believe that the Dome of the Spirits stands
over where the Holy of Holies stood in the innermost sanctum of the Temple. My friend and I took
each other's picture inside this dome and kept looking at it. An old Arab man did not understand
why we were doing this but made it clear in Arabic and gestures that we should move on.
This little incident illustrates that the Temple Mount is indeed a political and religious
powder keg and that they don't trust Jews or Christians on the Temple Mount.
